Meet the Artist

Well hello there! My name is Daisy Carter, and I'm a twenty-three year old self-taught illustrator based in Bowling Green, KY. My medium of choice is ink, but I also work with acrylic and mixed media collages. Art has always been a way for me to of ground myself. I'm glad that I've mustered up the strength to share it with you.

I'm a New Orleans native, and I moved to Kentucky after my mother and I evacuated Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This was a point in my life where I turned to art the most, considering I didn't have much to do other twiddle my thumbs. It's stuck with me ever since. I'm mostly inspired by anything that's visual overload. I've always enjoyed reading comic books and graphic novels, simply because of the visual storytelling.  Moebius is favorite of mine, of course. Ed Piskor is another one. I consider myself a conceptual artist, leaning more towards sci-fi and surrealism to express my narratives. My works often explore themes of chaos, isolation, and mental health.
